Welcome to the fifty-second episode of Roostertail Talk. This is part 2 of a 3 part episode in which my co-host, Jeff Bernard, along with myself interview Hydroplane Driver/Owner/Mechanic Nate Brown. In this episode Nate focuses on his years racing Unlimiteds with the Tide, Steve Woomer, Ellstrom Manufacturing and for Kim Gregory. Enjoy!
Welcome to the fiftieth episode of "Roostertail Talk". It is hard to believe we have reached 50 episodes in such little time! For the 50th episode, I talked with a child hydro hero of mine, Steve Reynolds. We talked about his love affair of hydroplane racing as a kid from growing up in the Seattle area, his racing career, favorite moments and the introduction of the enclosed canopy in hydroplane racing. Enjoy!
Welcome to the forty-ninth episode of Roostertail Talk. In this episode I talked with Jon Osterberg. Jon is a long time hydro fan, hydroplane historian, crew member on Dixon Smith's current restored Miss Bardahl and author. Jon recently released an updated version of his book “Dragon Days”, a book all about the 3rd Miss Bardahl hydroplane, hydroplane racing in the 1960s and what the boat went through its restoration process. In the interview I used a new computer, so my audio doesn’t come across as clear, but otherwise it was a great interview with Jon! Check out his new book: Dragon Days book on Amazon

Missing hydroplane racing this summer? Yeah, us too! For us at Roostertail Talk it isn't quite summer without hydroplane racing. Due to the covid-19 crisis in the world most (just about all) racing has been cancelled this summer. For those of us in the Pacific Northwest, the height of summer always fell in that magical week between the Columbia Cup and Seafair. With both of those races cancelled there is a big void in the summer in the state of Washington. Join us as we share some favorite moments in Columbia Cups and Seafair Regattas in years past. I share submissions from fans, my personal favorite memories, and break down the top 5 iconic moments at each race.
Do you have a favorite memory from the Columbia Cup or Seafair from years past? Without these two races happening at the height of summer this year (Columbia Cup may still happen later in summer) I would like to have a podcast episode dedicated to years past at these two events. Please submit your favorite memories with the link below, and I may select reading it on an upcoming episode! All you need to do is submit your name, location and a favorite memory. Submissions will be accepted until July 8th.
Welcome to the forty first episode of Roostertail Talk. This is the inaugural hydroplane trivia game-show, which features 3 H1 drivers as contestants: Jamie Nilsen, Andrew Tate and Brian Perkins. The game flows just like another game-show (Jeopardy) that most of us are familiar, except all of the questions are related to hydroplane racing! Who will win the first Roostertail Trivia Game?
Welcome to the fortieth episode of Roostertail Talk. In this episode I continue my conversation with Russ about his attempts to qualify as an Unlimited Hydroplane driver, the American Challenge WSR and other record attempts and challenges. This is part 2 of a 2 part episode. Enjoy!
Welcome to the thirty ninth episode of Roostertail Talk. Twenty years ago Russ Wick, along with many others, broke the speed record for propeller driven craft with the Miss Free-i hydroplane. Russ joins the podcast and recalls the events that led up to the record attempt, and the people who helped make his dream a reality. Enjoy!
